Apart from the thrillers, the 1980s had more than its fair share of movie gems in the other genres.
To me, two great works that should rank among the best are "The Color Purple" and "The Right Stuff".
Both sagas should be seen on the big screen with Dolby stereo sound for full enjoyment.
I've seen both of them several times each, and despite their length, i never never tire of watching them.
Instead, i get moved all over again.
If you haven't caught them at least twice on the BIG screen, make sure you try to for a great cinematic experience.
Meanwhile, another oft overlooked gem from the 80s is the Rob Reiner comedy "The Sure Thing" - i wonder how many of you out there have seen it?!
