a-ha Fan Convention to be Held in Hollywood

After the success of the first official a-ha U.S. Fan Meeting held in the summer of 2002, we are pleased to announce the 2nd annual a-ha U.S. Fan Convention will take place at the Beverly Garland Hotel in N. Hollywood, California on Saturday, July 12, 2003.
Fan Meeting 2002: What we did last time
Our first gathering was held in Washington D.C. over the July 4th weekend, 2002. The event brought together fans from all over the U.S. who traveled to our nation's capital to participate in a long overdue tribute to one of the 80s most underrated musical acts. Attendees were treated to rare music and video clips, giveaways, collectibles displays, and entertainment provided by the popular theme club "Polly Esther's".
Feedback from the event was collected by ourselves at a-ha's U.S. Street Team website and the reviews were extremely positive. We were encouraged sufficiently to plan a follow-up event for 2003 and recommended that the undertaking become an annual tradition!
Fan Convention 2003: The story so far
The convention will be a one-day event, with fans converging from all over the U.S. to the famous Beverly Garland Hotel in N. Hollywood, CA.
Live performances will be scattered liberally throughout the day, courtesy of the exceptional Southern Californian band, "Ockham's Razor".
Special giveaways and games will provide interactive fun for all attendees and should provide friendly competition amongst the rush for prizes and rare items.
This will be a great opportunity to experience an exciting celebration of a-ha's music and influence as we follow a timeline retrospective of the band's career from the early days until present. The showcase will be highlighted by video testimonials, displays, and other various presentations. We also look forward to providing a special journey and insight into Norwegian culture in general, as we pay tribute to the band's roots and heritage.
