The 80s supplied us with some valuable words and phrases, for most of which we can thank the valley girls. We're anxious to collect more, with their meanings.

4. "gag me with a spoon!" ("that makes me sick!")
5. "gnarley [dude]"
6. "grody to the max!" ("how very distasteful!")
7. "mint" ("excellent")
8. "rad"
9. "radical"
10. "tubular"
11. "valley girl" (vacuous teenage girls who swarmed the malls, particularly the Sherman Oaks Galleria, of the San Fernando Valley)
12. "yuppie" (young urban professional - a young college-educated adult who is employed in a well-paying profession and who lives and works in or near a large city)
